Homecoming

This weekend is homecoming in Lake Placid. We went to the game last night and before the game we were invited to a family tailgating BBQ. Fred and Uncle Monte made the plans and everyone brought food. We had a wonderful time, I felt like it was when we were kids. I think that maybe things are coming around for the Delaney's (at least those who want to). We had a good time visiting, and the kids had fun playing. Thanks to those who have made the effort to do things together.

Update!

Well Mo tells you that she is going to keep the blog up now, but I thought I better tie up the loose ends from the last year.

We were very pleased in the first part of the year for my sister and her children to move back to Florida. They are staying in Deltona with Rick's parents and they came first while Rick was waiting for a job transfer. She and the kids spent lots of weekends in Lake Placid visiting and making up for lost time. Oh how I missed her when she was in Texas. Even though she is not in the same town, I know that if need be I could be with her in no time flat now. I love you Suey and I am glad you are back.

Mo took the FCAT at school again; this year it was a math and reading only year. We had to wait until the middle of June to get the results, but she got both 5 on the test, for those who don't know that is a perfect score. We are so proud of her.

To celebrate Mo's FCAT score we took her to Downtown Disney to the movie theater to watch the Twilight movie Eclipse. She was awed to see movie in that awesome theater.

During the summer we were able to play on the lake with Dad's seadoo and had a really enjoyable time.

Mo stated 7th grade this year and is still in the band. On Tuesday of this week she played for the first home football game. The band sounded so good. We went to a high school game last night and we thought the middle school sounded better than the high school. Mo is being allowed to play with the 8th grade students because she is good and she follows directions. Only a few of the 7th graders go to do this, as I understand.

Lastly, we are getting a into the fall season and it's holidays around here. We are looking forward to the family reunion next weekend and then it will quickly be Halloween, Mo's 13th (oh, no) birthday, and then Thanksgiving and Christmas. It seems that once they start they are all so quick to come.

Howl-o-scream

Hola! She's back and better than ever. For the first time in forever, I am totally pumped for Halloween. If I "sound" different, It's 'cause my daughter is typing for me. This Halloween is gonna be AWESOME!!!!!!! I've been out for a while because I have no imagination or young kids. So, my "little" girl is gonna partially think for me for a while. Hope you like it from now on!

Best time of year

Since now the turkey is gone, it is officially my favorite time of year. I had a successful day of shopping yesterday with Don on our annual "Black Friday" event. We are now mostly done with the shopping and all of the things are wrapped. The plan was to have the tree up, but since we have new living room furniture, there is no room for the tree and we are improvising. We are going to take down the fish tank under the TV and put the tree there.

Today Morgan and I started on the Holiday baking. We started with Chex mix and cookies for the preacher at church and Morgan helped me with making Date Nut Bread for Grandpa Bob. Check out these pictures.

Morgan's Birthday

Let me start by saying that going into this birthday Mo was really mad at Don and I because we would not let her have a sleepover on the night of her birthday and we wouldn't tell her why. It was a secret. But now she is very happy with the events. We decided to have a breakfast birthday party for her because Don is working in the evenings and would be at work if it was later. But the best part was that Suzy and family were going to still be in town for the party and that was way more important in my opinion than having a sleepover that could happen a week or two later. Morgan was very happy with that. She was surprised even the day before, and I thought that she would have figured it out by then. Well everyone had a good time, and the food was really good. Jillian had a good time playing with the puppies, with the help of Don, but Jake did not care much for them. He at one point was laying in front of Bandit's cage watching him, but when Bandit came out Jake made a run for it.

Happy late birthday baby. She is 12 now so not much of a baby, but still my baby!

Visit from Suzy and family

We were blessed last week to get a visit from Suzy, Rick and the kids. I know that I really enjoyed spending time with them. Those kids are growing so fast. Don was particularly excited to see them as he has not seen them since last Christmas. Morgan and I were lucky to be able to go over the summer and therefore we have seen them. We saw them on Sunday after church at Grandma and Papa's house in Winter Haven and had a great visit with most of the family present including Dad and his girlfriend Cindy. I am glad that everyone felt welcome there. It was no time at all until both Jillian and Jacob has warmed up to everyone. If you will remember when Morgan and I were in Texas Jillian had decided that she did not like Uncle Don, but when she was here she decided that she liked him just fine. It warmed my heart when someone would get her and she would yell "Help me Uncle Don", and don't you know he was there in a flash to help her. It was a great visit.
Later in the week we were able to go to Tampa to see Suzy in the evening for dinner at Olive Garden and had a really nice visit. Mom, Dad, Morgan and I were on that trip.
Then on Friday night Suzy, Rick and the kids were in Lake Placid at Mom's house for a spaghetti dinner, complete with apple crisp (like in school Suzy said). It was really good.

MIA

I know that we have been MIA lately, but we have been really, really busy. At work we had 2 people quit and, therefore, I have been working a ton of overtime. I know, good for the paycheck, but bad for the family time. I have finished all of that and now am home a little more. Now on to the blogging.
